Prayer for National Unity:

God of peace and righteousness,
look with compassion on our nation,
in this time of disunity,
violence, distrust, prejudice, and discord.

The power of sin and evil
is always beyond our power,
but you have conquered it
through the death and resurrection of your Son.

May his triumph over the evils we face
and the light of your Holy Spirit
open the minds and hearts of your people
to see the truth,
to heed your wisdom,
and to follow in your ways.

Open my own mind and heart
to see what needs to change in me,
and strengthen my will
to accept the challenge
to shine forth the light of Christ,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit
now and forever.  Amen.
